Creation is tohu va-vohu: a wild, chaotic, creative and fluid happening lacking permanence, certainty and surety (Genesis 1:2). Most of the time we bury this truth beneath isms and ideologies—religious, political, social, and economic—that promise us a sense of order. But there are other times—and this is one of them—when truth shatters the facade of order and we are surrendered to the horror and hope of unfiltered reality.
Many of us will hide from the truth, screaming our fictions louder and louder. But some of us will come out of hiding and embrace reality at is it. Rabbi Rami Is In: Roadside Assistance at the Corner of Tohu va-Vohu is for them.
Beginning Tuesday, April 28 and continuing through May 7, we will gather each Tuesday at 11:00AM CDT and each Thursday at 2:00PM CDT for an hour of conversation via Zoom to make meaning out of this moment, find comfort in being surrendered to tohu va-vohu, and explore what is true about life, death, love, fear, faith, God, etc., in this and every moment, now and into the future.
